Abstract

A letter from Ethelwyn Wetherald to Mr. Page, dated 16 July 1921. The letter reads: "Dear Mr. Page, Your kind letter received some days ago, and had it not been that the hay, the wheat and the berries were running a race to see which could get attention first, I would have answered it at once. It will be a pleasure to me to read and criticize your productions. Only I hope you will take my remarks with several grains of salt because my limitations as a critic may be much more apparent than yours as a creative artist. However I have had a good deal of practice in critical work and shall be only too glad if I can be of the least assistance to you. Herbert was fortunate enough to secure the services of a strong-armed Romanian in the hay field for the rest of the season. So I shall have leisure for the labor I delight in. So I hope to see your book soon. Do you ever see the magazine called The Editor, published at Ridgewood, New Jersey? If I can find anything in old [illegible] bearing on verse writing I will send them on to you. It is a keen pleasure to have a place in the thoughts of Mrs. Page. The quality of her mind is very much like that of her deeply-mourned brother Dr. Sydney. My brother joins me in kind regards. Sincerely yours, Ethelwyn Wetherald"
