Description
This letter is dated June 17, 1867. It is a personal letter in which Mr. Rittenhouse says that is 35 miles to his father and mother’s house. He states that the weather has been warm and it is quite dry but the grain and grass look fine. He believes that there will be a lot of fruit where he works. He was planning on going to a bush meeting and wished that Polly could have gone with him and Agnes (1854-1932) and Elizabeth (1852-1938). [Agnes and Elizabeth were his sisters]. He went to a dance in Jordan, but he claims that it was “not very much”. He asks for Polly’s photograph. The letter is signed John R. Rittenhouse.
