Abstract
The Press, Volume 33, Issue 11 includes: Fresh from his victory in a national election, Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto of Japan has begun putting together a coalition that will enable him to form a new government that will rule Japan in the years ahead; Up to 250,000 Hutu refugees from Rwanda and Burundi were on the move in eastern Zaire in search of a haven from fighting between Zairean soldiers and ethnic Tutsi rebels; North Korea may be preparing to test-fire a missile capable of reaching Japan, adding to the anxieties and tensions on the Korean Peninsula; Russian Security Council Chief Alexander Lebed fell to Kremlin ambush after accusations that he was preparing a coup with a “Russian legion” of 50,000 troops backed by Chechen rebels.
