Abstract

The Press, Volume 32, Issue 23 includes: The BUSU vice-president of Student Services Christina Davis has stepped down as she can’t handle full time work due to health problems; A hate mail chain letter condemning Jewish people that was stamped with the symbol of the University of Calgary was received by BUSU last week. The letter was forwarded to the Dean of Students and head of campus security after the fact. The letter was signed by one Karl Werner Wilde, and condemned the Jewish faith as a “criminal cult.”; Craig Lahey takes on the role of Election Coordinator for BUSU after previous occupant stepped down; The British Government and the IRA had established a ceasefire agreement that lasted 18 months. This ceasefire came to an end when a 500 pound bomb exploded in London leaving two people dead, and a coded message was received by the Irish National Broadcasting Network said they were calling of the ceasefire with “great reluctance.” This was due to John Major’s inability to budge on disagreements about the decommission of weapons.
