Abstract

Letter to Miss Amy Heaps, Toronto, from Pte. S. J. Maynard, West Sandling, Kent. The writer states that he received the photos, which have made him feel homesick. He finds it lonely since all the boys of the old battalions have gone to France and there are all strangers in the camp. He adds that there has been lots of rain and it is very muddy. He doesn’t know if he will be sent to France, but is sick of hanging around in the camp, August 8/17. Includes an envelope with a 1 penny stamp. Postmark location is cut off, 2 JA 17.
