dc.description.abstractA photograph of Shickluna's ship yard in 1864. The caption reads: "Shickluna's Ship Yard in 1864 - Employing Over 300 Men - 'Perseverance' and 'Enterprise' upper left of picture. 'Valetta' in foreground with Capt. J. Sullivan on upper yard arm. Tug 'Sampson' on stocks right end of picture; Commodore Shickluna standing at bow. Two other ships were then being rebuilt at Shickluna's Dry Dock - Lock Three. The 'City of Toronto' also built here, then plying between Toronto and Niagara."en_US
