Abstract

Contains official accounts of the capture of Fort George, including copies of letters from Com. Chauncey to the Secretary of the Navy; copies of letters from Major-General Dearborn to the Secretary of War; and a public declaration addressed to the Canadians, stating that “all those who may come forward and enroll their names with him and claim the protection of the U. States, shall have their property and persons secured to them inviolate.”
