This collection documents the first hydroelectric project on the Canadian side of the Niagara River dating from the 1890s until the 1950s. The records chronicle the early years of the company revealing details on the political, economic and technological efforts required to make the venture a success. This collection was certified as significant cultural property to Canada by the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Movable Cultural Property Office.
